My Sundays are the one day of the week I do not plan projects. It is spent getting the new week organized including scheduling my workouts and meal planning. I usually go for a run but due to the rain and high dew point (the higher the dew point the more difficult it is to run), I decided to forgo my run. I then found my new project: my bedroom closet. I don’t know about you but somehow I manage to have to do this about every 6 months. I had gotten some new hangers and closet organizers to tackle the job. I thought it would have taken 2 hours but of course 4 hours was more realistic. I thought I knew what was in my closet but I think the clothes must have multiplied while I was not looking. The nice thing is I was able to purge 3 boxes of clothes, shoes and accessories. I donate to the Vietnam Vets because they will come to pick up the boxes and will take even small furniture and appliances. My closet is now more organized and arranged according to color. The new hangars have created more space and I now know what I need to add to my wardrobe.
On Sundays I plan to list my workout routine here for 2 reasons. First it will keep me accountable and second I hope it may motivate some to start being more active. I keep my workouts to 30 minutes. Currently I am doing Jillian Michael’s Body Revolution. It is a 90 day program and designed to lose weight, firm and get healthy. I am trying to lose that last 20 pounds. I have recently found the exercise programs on Demand (Comcast or Fios). They range in time from 15 minutes to an hour but provide some great workouts and are actually categorized from beginner to advanced. Great for anyone wanting a variety of workouts. I also try to take a 15-20 minute walk at lunch 3 days a week which is great to getting away for a few minutes and clearing your mind. Here is my weekly workout schedule:
Monday: Jillian’s #3 DVD (30 minutes)
Tuesday: Rest Day
Wednesday: Jillian’s #4 DVD (30 minutes)
Thursday: Running outside (3 miles)
Friday: Jillian’s #3 DVD (30 minutes)
Saturday: Jillian’s #4 DVD (30 minutes)
Sunday: Running outside (4 miles)
Would love to hear about your favorite workouts. Hope your have a great Sunday evening.
On the items you donated – hope you listed them out and priced them so you can claim on taxes. Way to go my friend! Canit wait to read the next one.
Thanks for taking the time to stop and read it.
Since I live in sunny Arizona, in the summertime I go out walking for 30 minutes at 5:00 a.m. then come home and get in the pool and do 30 minutes of water exercise five days a week. However, in the winter since we don’t have a heated pool… I go for a one hour walk every day. I find as long as I keep to this daily routine at least five days a week my joints don’t hurt as much and I think it is important as we get older to keep moving. I’m only 61, but I’ve seen the other side of not staying active every time I visit my mother at the Care Center where she lives. Great Post!
I work in orthopedics so see quite a few people with problems and some due to their inactivity. My mom had hip arthritis and dad had knee arthritis so I definitely want to keep moving. Sounds like you have a great exercise plan!
