Today I started my DIY project -the half bath. This room has need some serious attention since I bought the house but it always seemed another project or activity took precedence. This is the wall paper in the room ( don’t judge me-I didn’t pick and have never liked it)
I planned to get all the wallpaper off and at least get a coat of paint on today. Um I don’t know about you but where are the Bath Crashers on DIY network when you need them. First I went to take the baseboard off and found someone had put enough caulking on them for 10 houses. The nails were not the usual ones used to attach baseboard and I could nail them straighter into the wall than the so-called professionals that did these walls. A quick trip to Home Depot enabled me to get the tools I needed.
Then I discovered I am going to need to take out the sink. As par for this project I cannot get the faucets and nut off of the old sink. That will have to wait until tomorrow and I enlist some help.
I didn’t get as much done as I wanted but it takes time. This is my first major DIY project and am excited about undertaking it. I will share the project with you and provide periodic updates. But if you do see the crew from Bath Crashers can you send them my way.
You really are one brave woman Kathy… I so admire that. Good luck with this DIY project. I’m sure it will turn out great and I’m looking forward to seeing progress updates.
I figured I would start off with a small room and I have another bathroom if I have to spread out the project. I have always wanted to try my hand at remodeling so there is no time like the present. I will definitely keep everyone updated
Good luck I’m excited to see the results…I love DIY projects wish I was there to help
Wish you could have been here too. Going well only had to stop because I need help with a few things. Thanks for the comment and the support
