I love Christmas and all the decorations. I am one of those people who take the decorations and lights down in a particular order and even check the lights one last time before putting them away.
I finished the inside and outside decorations this weekend but decided to wait until Monday to do the tree. I have 2 trees one for my granddaughter which is on the second floor and this is not difficult to decorate. The main tree is an older tree. I cannot even recall how many years I have had it.
The first obstacle came in the tree assembly. I lost the instructions many years ago. Each branch used to have color coded tape however some has faded and other branches had the tape fall off. Yes I know after Christmas a new tree is a required purchase. I did get it together and started with the lights. I put 3 strings of light on and got to the final set and yes you guessed it, some of the lights were out. How does the Grinch do that? I realized the tree wasn’t going to be done.
Tuesday I was able to leave work a little early due to a light schedule. My task was to get some new lights. One thing I refuse to do is pay a hefty price for decorations. I knew where I needed to go Wal-Mart. There is a Super Wal-Mart on my way home from work so I would be able to run in and out. It was early afternoon who could be there. Well I guess many people had the same idea. I went in grabbed my cart and went in the store. Next thing I feel is a cart hitting my leg not once but three times. I veered off and told the lady to go ahead of me. Her response, “It’s about time you moved. I’m in a hurry.” I did wish her a Merry Christmas and went to the Christmas decorations. I did get more than 1 set of lights-I saw some cute lights that would go in my living room window. The rest of the Wal-Mart excursion was uneventful.
I finally came home and began to decorate. I turned some Christmas music on and once again became excited about decorating. The tree is done and I think it turned out well
I found out I am going to have my granddaughter this weekend. She has not seen either tree yet and we may have to try to make some Christmas cookies. It should be a fun day.
Your tree looks beautiful. I’m sure you and your beautiful granddaughter will have a fun-filled time baking and enjoying the decorations etc. Thanks for sharing.
