Christmas Part 2

Christmas part 1 was done on Christmas Day spent with my daughter and friends. Then it suddenly became time to have Christmas part 2. The presents were placed under tree and I decided to do a beef roast and carrots in the slow cooker as well as oven brown red potatoes and steamed asparagus.  My son had to work so the celebration could not begin until after 3 p.m.

My daughter and son-in-law arrived first and I we enjoyed watching the hockey game as well as some football. That and some great conversation helped pass the time waiting for my son and family to arrive.

Finally my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter arrived. My granddaughter wished us Happy Holidays and even sang a chorus of Jingle Bells. Unfortunately I was not able to capture her unwrapping presents because she sat with me while the gift exchange occurred. We were having so much fun talking and laughing pictures were missed.

My granddaughter received many gifts but her favorite was Flutterbye Flying Fairy. It is a magical fairy that flies through the air (thanks to 6 AA batteries). Fairies are one of my granddaughter’s favorite things. I had never heard of the fairy and was amazed watching it dance through the air.

The smile watching her fly the fairy was priceless.  For those of you who like me have no idea about Flutterbye  Fairy  here is a picture

The next gift she liked was her Leap Pad.  Here is a picture of her playing with her Aunt Jen

IMG_5674I think there was one gift which was enjoyed by the adults as well as my granddaughter. My granddaughter has picked up my camera and tried to take pictures. I saw a creative camera from Leap Frog. You are able to place a smart phone in a camera like case (I must add a sturdy case).  They are able to take pictures and also create different funny pictures. Here is one of the ones my son created

Michael ChristmasI can see this will be well used when my granddaughter comes to visit.

We had a wonderful dinner

  1. What a beautiful gathering. Being with family and friends truly is what’s most important in life. Our little granddaughter, Hope, received the Flutterbye Fairy for Christmas as well. She loves it. Thanks for sharing your family celebrations with us.

I did enjoy the celebration. The most fun for me was watching the “big kids” enjoy the toys. I have come to discover Flutterbye Fairy was one of the more popular toys! Thanks for your comments and support

Both that fairy and Leap Pad camera sound like great gifts! My son’s fiancee’s little girls are always stealing my iPhone to take pictures and I have to keep my real camera out of their reach so come birthday time I’ll keep these in mind! 🙂

I was impressed with the sturdiness of the case on the Leap Pad camera. We left the camera here so my granddaughter could take pictures with her camera as I take them with mine.I talked to my son and my granddaughter is having fun with the fairy. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

It sounds like you are fortunate enough to have that beautiful granddaughter close by! My granddaughter is 9+ and only a mile away. She used to love her Leap Pad, too! She also had a children’s camera when she was young and a couple of months ago spent her own saved money to buy her first small Nikon! So you never know what you are starting! Just stopping by from the GRAND Social. Hope you get a chance to do the same
