A Midweek Perk

After my week off I finally went back to work on Monday. I somehow thought that I would be able to go back and have all my energy and stamina somehow return. I was able to complete the 2 days but have been asleep by 9 p.m. That my friends is unheard of in my world.

Today that all changed. Today was the best I have felt . Could it also have something to do with the weather change. It was 48 degrees here today. There was rain, sun but no snow. I came out of work and felt much warmer air hit my face. I was not the only person to have that smile and extra hop in their step. I saw people out running in long sleeve shirts and joyously puddle jumping. There were also others walking and enjoying each step. When I arrived home tonight, I took Kibbles for a longer walk. I think I noticed an extra hop in her step as well.

The best part of the day was yet to come. I had a couple of visitors tonight-yes my son and granddaughter. It seems she was getting bored with being home and what better place to visit than Grandma’s  house. We had dinner and watched the Olympics. She and I decided we wanted to go on the bobsled. She will be the driver and I will be the brake person. It was fun watching her get so excited watching them go down the hill. Who knows maybe I have a future gold medalist.

Soon it was time for them to go home. We put away her toys and packed her backpack. Hugs and kisses were given. She was on her way out the door when suddenly she turned around, poked her head in, smiled and said, “I love you Grandma”.   That is the best that it gets.

I wish this weather would last but I then remember it’s February but I will take all the nice days I can get.I am sure you will enjoy being a grandmother. Thanks for your comment

  4. Glad to hear you are feeling better Kathy. Living in Arizona, I can only imagine how good it feels to you when your weather starts to warm up. And, there is nothing like a grandchild to lift your spirits. You really have a special relationship with your precious little granddaughter. Great Post.

I wish this weather would stay for a few more weeks but hopefully it will soon be here to stay. I consider myself fortunate for having my family so close and able to visit with both my children and granddaughter weekly. Thanks for your comment and continuing support

  5. Awwww….I love this—so sweet! I have a 2-year-old granddaughter but I only get to see her once a month since they live several hours away.
