I had my to do list ready but something interfered with getting it done. I woke up and the sun was shining. Kibbles and I took a short walk but then I decided the to do list could wait. I needed to enjoy the day.
After breakfast Kibbles and I went to the park. We have a special trail we walk during the spring and summer. Today it was slightly muddy but the sun was shining and Kibbles was able to run on the leash and enjoy the walk. We came back home and I let her out on the deck while I made lunch.
After lunch I decided to go shopping. The other day I found that my shoe wardrobe was lacking something important-rain boots. When I go to work I have to park across the street from work. The street is a major roadway. When it rains I always end up getting drenched and step in the small river flowing down the road. I actually keep an extra change of socks and shoes at work due to getting soaked trying to get there. That problem has been solved. I had a 25 dollar gift card to DSW. These are the boots I chose.
I also stopped at Macy’s to see what they had on sale. I then did something I had never done before. I went to the Bobbi Brown counter and received a make up lesson. I bought the foundation I needed but learned much more with the tips they gave me. Best thing was the entire session was free.
The day was so beautiful I drove with my moon roof open and my window down. We must take advantage of these types of days in February. I noticed I was not the only one to be out and about today.
The bonus for the day was I ran into a friend who I have not seen in 3 years. We did a quick catch up and exchanged numbers. I will be calling her to set up a lunch or dinner. The one thing I learned today was sometimes the list has to be put away and take advantage of the day.
A perfect day! And LOVE those boots!
I truly enjoyed the day and think it is important we “seize the day”.
Those rain boots are adorable, can’t believe they’re only $39.95! I love this post because lately I feel like my life has been nothing but to do lists. I need to leave mine behind and go for a walk with my dog, Tucker! Thanks for the reminder….
I hope you were able to take advantage of the day. I think it is important that we still take time for ourselves. Thanks for dropping by.
Good for you Kathy for leaving the “list” and taking advantage of a beautiful day, knowing the “list” will always be there when you get back…. 🙂 And what a bonus running into an old friend…The boots are adorable, and necessity for rainy days! Great post!
It was still there when I got up today and I did get some of the list completed. I liked the colorful pattern of the boots and it will be nice to go into work dry. Thanks for the support
