Today started out like a typical Friday. I got up and looked at all the empty hangers and pulled out the last set of scrubs (don’t judge, some days it is the little things in life)..empty hangers mean it is Friday. Things went uneventful until I got halfway down the road and realized I forgot my breakfast. No problem I will grab something at work.
I took the shortcut to work..until that 27 car train decides to delay traffic for 15 minutes. Then there were the 3 school buses on the route. I never remember them being on the road that early. Oh that’s right, I am 15 minutes later than usual.
I finally get to work and cross the busy intersection safely no small feat I might add but that is a story for another day. I got into work and walked into the office and started my routine. Suddenly patients started coming for the day 1 after the other. Suddenly it was 2 pm and so far I have had no breakfast, no lunch and 1/2 a cup of coffee. That combination does not make me a pleasant person but no people were harmed because of my low blood sugar and lack of caffeine. I did manage to eat an orange and an apple as well as heat up my coffee. Not the ideal but it worked.
I did manage to leave work at 4:40 and of course hit rush hour traffic. I managed to get home an hour later and take the dog for a nice walk. I didn’t feel like cooking and our church has a Lenten Fish Fry. The church is a 10 minute drive so I went there for a fish sandwich and fries to go . Simple task right? Well not today. I got there at 6 and left at 7:20 with my fish and fries in hand. They were swamped and bless those volunteers, I imagine they will sleep well tonight.
This day was a horrendous day but now that I have eaten, changed clothes and am relaxing I can find some amusement in the day. It was the Friday that seemed like Monday. I thought I was whisked through a time machine and missed the weekend. Seriously though if this is the worst day then I am one lucky person. Happy Friday to all!
Oh that’s funny Kathy… what a day you had indeed. Glad you finally made it home safely and can now laugh about it which will set the mood for you to hopefully have a fabulous fun-filled weekend…Enjoy!!
Friday night did go better. Things always look different if you raise your blood sugar and put you feet up! Thanks for your continued support and comment
You really had a day cousin, why can’t we have Monday’s that feel like Fri if we can have fri that feel like mon?…hope you have a wonderful weekend
Who know Monday is coming maybe it will be like Friday! We can always hope. Thanks cousin for dropping by and your comment.
Thank goodness it was a Friday and not a Monday. And so jealous you get to wear scrubs to work!
Scrubs have their pros and cons. I don’t have to think what I am going to wear but it also allows you to sometimes not be as diligent with food choices and exercise because they are so forgiving.
