I never make New Year’s resolutions but rather goals to achieve each year and 2014 is no exception. It has been a little over 3 months since I made those goals and time for a review to see how I am progressing. I have always thought it was important to checkup on the progress monthly so that changes could be implemented quickly. My first goal was to pare down the items in my house. This has been at a standstill and I have not made any major progress since February. I have made some progress with the spare room but now that spring is here it has revived my energy and need to complete this goal. I did donate 3 bags and 2 boxes of clothes and miscellaneous items to the Vietnam Vets in March.
My next goal is to avoid surgery and return to running a 5k. After a scare when I had some hip pain I did return to running and ran 1 and ½ miles without pain. I will continue to do some running this weekend. . I am still planning to run the Pirate 5k on April 19th. I am also continuing the couch to 10k program as it is a walk/run and gradually allow me to return to running. In addition I have started Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30. It is a 20 minute complete circuit workout that can be done 4-5 days a week. Each week builds on the last and of course gets more challenging. I am on Week 1 and am sore already.
The main goal of 2014 is that 2014 is the year of me. While this goal is challenging for me I continue to make progress with it. I have started the photography class and learn so much each week. I have begun serving on the board of our townhouse association. The move into spring has me working on my spring and summer wardrobe as well as a change in my hairstyle to one that I really like. Meeting up with friends and family have also been on the calendar. How have your goals been progressing?
Sounds like your doing a good job of meeting your goals. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions either because I don’t want to set myself up for feeling bad if I don’t keep them. I don’t even set yearly goals for myself… I am more of a daily list maker, as in the forever “to do list…” I use my daytimer as my “to do list”. I prioritize the list and work from the top down marking off the things I accomplish each day. As one item gets marked off, usually another is added, or carried over to the next day if for some reason I didn’t get everything done on my “to do list” for that day… It’s a never ending story because there is always something that needs to be done. Works for me… Great post Kathy. Thanks for continuing to share your thoughts, goals, life with us…XoXo
I started making these goals because it made me break them into smaller goals that I could achieve daily weekly and even monthly. I also like lists and like to put check marks next to the list. I have a notebook I use for the to do list. Thanks for your continued support and comments
You seem to be doing a good job of meeting and at least working towards all your goals! Nice work, Kathy!
Thanks Kate. I used to be that perfectionist who had to achieve all my goals. Thank goodness I can now allow myself to be a work in progress. Thanks for your comments
Inspiring, Kathy! my good intentions have taken a beating. Getting back on course . . .
Thanks so much. Hopefully I can get some things accomplished this weekend. Thanks for your comments
