To my Granddaughter
May 6, 2010 is a very important day in my life. Today is the day you first came into the world. I remember how excited I was when I first received the pictures. I could not wait to finish work to come to see you. The minute I saw you and held you my heart melted and I knew you were a special part of my life.
That first year we had many fun times: watching you smile, turn over, crawl , talk and walk. We also had a scare. The time we discovered you had something called infantile spasms. Seems like a very benign term but it took you through many tests, medicines and worries for all of us.
Your first birthday was a wonderful celebration complete with a picnic and a smashed cake
This year brought about good news: you were pronounced free of infantile spasms and off medicines. You talked a little more and we saw you emerge as your own person. Christmas that year was special as you enjoyed unwrapping the presents and dancing.
Soon after your second birthday you moved into your new house. I was very happy it was only 15 minutes away. I fell fortunate we are able to spend a lot of time together. The terrible twos really wasn’t that bad. You loved to sing and have books read.
Before I knew it you turned 3. This year we did a fairy garden
We had fun planting the garden but I think the most fun was playing in the dirt. It was also the year we did chalk drawings on the sidewalk, went to the park and our special day at the museum. We also had a wonderful time at the Muppet Movie. The most important milestone was you starting preschool. You went in a quiet shy little girl. You have emerged as a more confident little girl with many friends. You are now starting to read and we have so many special conversations.
Today you turn 4. I cannot wait to see what this year has to offer. I know there are more trips to the museum, a day in Schenley Park as well as trips to the local park. I am so lucky to have you in my life and love you very much
All my love

Thank you so much
She really is the sweetest little thing! And, geesh, has she ever had a bad hair day? EVER?
Thank you! I have never seen her with a bad hair day. I am jealous.
